If I only had a Plane...

I think when Dorothy said the famous line, "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore" she shouldn't have sounded so upset. If a tornado had carried me away from Kansas today, I would have been thrilled. No offense to those who live in the Sunflower State, but during the 8 hours I spent driving through Kansas I couldn't quite figure out where all the cars with Kansas license plates were going. And where they were coming from... The only noteworthy civilization was Kansas City, and the majority of that is technically in Missouri. Missouri, the ambiguously named "Show-Me State," didn't show me much of anything, except maybe what the country was like in the early 1800's. I'm sure I'm starting to offend some Kansas/Missouri residents so I'll cease my complaints- at least I got through my uneventful first day free of tornados and speeding tickets- and the almost entirely flat terrain gave Stacy a break. Who is Stacy you may ask? Why she is my friendly, exceptionally accurate, slightly-obnoxious back seat driver, AKA the voice behind my in-car GPS system. Not a bad investment so far. We'll see if she can handle tomorrow's terrain. Bigger cities, various freeway changes...needless to say, she has a big day tomorrow. And so do I. So, from the EconoLodge in Greenville, Illinois goodnight and sweet dreams.

The biggest step...

I am about to take the biggest step of my life. A step that measures over 2,000 miles. A step that requires a blog! I am about to leave Home Sweet Home Colorado, drive my trusty old Camry across the greater part of the country, and embark on a new series of journeys in Boston, Massachusetts. Don't worry friends- I will never become a New England Patriots fan. I will forever sport the orange-and-blue. My roots, and part of my heart, will always be in Colorado but as long as I'm living in Boston I may as well blog about Bean Town. First order of business, find out why it is called Bean Town...
